For a limited time, Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition is available free” for EA Play users via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, thanks to EA’s ongoing holiday festivities. The latest title from EA is to be getting away for free during December, the deal is available only until December 20, meaning fans of the 2017 title will have to act quickly to snag it if they want their copy.
Following a long absence, EA revived the Star Wars Battlefront franchise in 2015, with a sequel debuting in 2017. The former received a bittersweet response upon its launch, while Battlefront 2 boasts of “very positive” reviews from Steam, having garnered over 50,000 user impressions. On the other hand, Aspyr’s just-released Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection unfortunately didn’t fare as well and suffered a “mostly negative” reception on Steam owing to its price hike, launch with few servers, and a barrage of bugs.

The celebration edition boasts more than 25 Hero appearances, 100 Trooper and Reinforcement appearances, 100 Hero and Trooper Emotes and Voice Lines, and 70 Hero and Trooper Victory Poses; unlike the game’s standard edition. You’d be remiss to consider that Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition is making its free debut: back in 2021, Epic Games allowed players a time-limited and free copy, and Xbox users now also find this favored sequel at their disposal.
