Everything happened in The Game Awards 2024

The greatest game of the year is determined at the Game Awards, which also release a tonne of trailers for new games. Even if acknowledging the outstanding games published in 2024 is essential, some individuals are only excited about the upcoming releases.

We have the full list of all the games that were revealed at The Game Awards 2024, which for the tenth consecutive year was jam-packed with game announcements. All of the new Game Award trailers that were aired tonight are shown here, along with a summary of the actual announcements.

Geoff Keighley hosted the Game Awards on Thursday night. Multi-award-winning games included Metaphor: ReFantazio, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Black Myth: Wukong, and Balatro, while Astro Bot was named Game of the Year.

  1. Game of the Year: Astro Bot by Team Asobi won the top honour.
  2. Best Action Game: Black Myth: Wukong by Game Science.
  3. Best RPG: Metaphor: ReFantazio by Atlus.
  4. Best Performance: Melina Juergens for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
  5. Best Ongoing Game: Helldivers 2.
  6. Best Independent Game: Balatro by LocalThunk.
  7. Content Creator of the Year: CaseOh.

Exciting Announcements:

  • Naughty Dog Scientists unveiled their new sci-fi game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
  • Capcom and Hideki Kamiya’s new studios officially released an Okami sequel announcement.
  • Trailer screenings included The Witcher 4, Grand Theft Auto VI, and The Outer Worlds 2, the latter of which was included in this year’s event after appearing in last year’s announcements.
  • Sonic Racing CrossWorlds was in tow from Sega, alongside another Virtua Fighter instalment.
  • The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered was released on PC, in April of 2025.

Highlights:

  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown won the prize for Innovation in Accessibility.
  • Independent co-op Elden Ring title Nightreign was announced.
  • GTA VI took the prize for the Most Anticipated Game.
