Overwatch 2 director Aron Keller toled recently that player can expect more monumental update slike stadium and perks system in the future patches.
OW2 has added a plethora of major features in the past couple of season with more on the way, and looking at Keller, 2026 can be the good chang for the hero shooter game.
Season 15 added that perks and special hero abilities which are unlocked throughout the match. Season 16 has finally introduced Hero Bans and added Stadium, new game mode with its own maps and balances.
The developers are planning to make more upgarades to Stadium in the future by adding more characters, maps abd even game types such as the Payload Race.
Overwatch 2 will be great in 2026
They had chit chat with Twitch streamer Emongg, Aaron Keller said that Stadium is not the end of what developer team is working on, they are working on even more features.
He said that developers have taken the heart some of the feedback from the players and they would like to do bigger, more monumental things in the gam, and to be careful looking at the past.
Keller also revealed that the modes, like Stadium and gameplay features like perks, are just the start of what they have planned.
He said things are bigger for the game, and it does not end there, ambition or the end of the types of things that they do not want to do. There are going to bea lot to look forward to, not just the upcoming season but also things like the Stadium.
Season 17 will be bringing Map voting to mix in the base, having more stadium specifications and improvements to the schedule for Season 19.
Looking at 2026, there are things like MOBA, a mobile version of Overwatch, which is in development.
To add on BlizzCon, Blizzard’s massive event where new games are featured and announced, it can be said it is coming back next year. So there is a possibility that the new monumental updates might be released there.
