Nintendo is saying there are some invites for the in-house Switch 2 pre order system may not be coming until June 5 which is the official release date, and the people who get to order early may have to wait until the launch of their console.
The customers in the United States will finally get pre-order and the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 24, 2025, from Walmart, Target and GameStop.
The $500 console was quickly sold out, like everywhere. The Nintendo pre-order lottery is sending out the invites until May 8.
The company updated on April 24 that, due to high demand, some users may have to wait until the June 5 release date to buy their Switch 2. And those who manage to get an invite before that may have to wait until the launch of their new console.
Nintendo pre-orders may take more time.
If you are signing up for the pre-order of the Switch 2 straight from Nintendo, then you need to wait for a while. The first round of invites is set to go out on May 8, 2025, and those who are 18 years and older who have met the requirements set by the company.
Nintendo is saying that due to the overwhelming demand for the console, the delivery of your Switch 2 is going to be on after June 5, and the invitation email will not even arrive after the launch.
Nintendo said they are thankful for the people who have made the purchase through their My Nintendo Store.
Later, they even said that they are excited after seeing the demand for the new Nintendo Switch 2, and they are working hard to fulfil the orders to become available, yet the delivery is not guaranteed. The invitation email may be received after the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, and they will confirm the date of shipping date upon the order.
Looking at the stats, Nintendo America is not the only issue. On April 23rd, Japan revealed that there are over 2.2M people signed up for the pre-order of the Switch 2, even though they are facing order delays.
