A sequel to the megapopular Super Mario Bros.Movie is now in the works, and Nintendo has made an exciting announcement: there is are new title and the original cast is set to return.
Holding the record for the biggest debut of any animated movie in history, it seemed inevitable that a follow-up would be close behind and also details which were few and far between now.
The latest Nintendo Direct will appear on the screen on September 12, and also ahead of the Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary, with the first announcement being the upcoming film.
Introducing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Shigeru Miyamoto is on screen to reveal that the new movie is called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with the original voice cast set to return.
Which includes Cris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
The short teaser was played, with the camera following the butterfly as it also leads on the sleeping Mario cap before swooping across the scenery, past Peach castle and up into the sky to reveal the title.
The illumination, Chri.s As we celebrate Mario’s 40th anniversary, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the four decades of creativity, imagination, and adventure that Mario has brought to life for fans across generations around the world.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jeleni, who will return to direct the film, and Illumination illustrators, who are currently hard at work to ensure the quality which will match its predecessor.
Brian Tyler is also back to compose the score, with Meledandri promising it will also feature the blend of musical themes from Mario’s incredible game heritage. Miyamoto is also added as he is involved in the production of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Well, there is no mention of Seth Rogen in Donkey Kong, as it is unclear whether he will return in the future, and there were rumours of a standalone Donkey Kong film, which have not been confirmed.
There is also no release of the date which follows up yet, and there is no doubt that it will also have more in the months to come.
