Niantic Inc, creators of Pokemon Go, have been reportedly seeing a blockbuster sale to a Saudi Arabia-controlled company to the tune of $3.5 billion.
Now it is almost a decade after the release of Pokemon Go, and it is still a trending mobile game in the market, generating hundreds of millions in revenue with each year passing.
A startup under Google, the San Francisco Development Studio went independent in the year 2015. The American team at Niantic is close to inking a deal with the Saudi company, which would sell off the entire gaming division.
Bloomberg reported that Niantoc is in talks to sell the gaming business to Scopley Inc., which is a company owned by Savy Games Group, which is a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund. Look at the deal that is to be made around the $3.5 billion mark.

If the deals go through, Savvy Games Group could entirely take control over Niantic operations in the gaming industry. Which also include the on-going projects, not just about the Pokemon GO.
Developers based in San Francisco are indeed to work on other projects. which also include tools that capture 3D scans of real-world locations. This deal pertains exclusively to its gaming unit, with Pokemon Go by and its largest release, and Monster Hunter, which is now another upcoming title.
Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund is one of the recognized biggest allotments of wealth in the world, the assets which are estimated to be valued around $930 billion USD. 60% of the investment focuses on Saudi-backed operations and activities, and the remaining 40% is up to control in foreign entities.
All we say is that there is no guarantee that the deal is going to be made; these are just speculations based on rumors. As for now that the details have been out in public, it has been reported for the time being that a $3.5 billion deal has been presented, but nothing has officially been signed for the time being.

As to be noted, Pokemon Go was launched in Saudi Arabia back in November 9, 2024. The leaker, Bloomberg, claimed that the deal could be announced very soon. These are not going to take time; things will be announced soon, one way or another.
