GTA 5 success still goes on to reach a new heights in 2025 with the total sales which even GTA 6 might able to surpass. GTA 5 was released back in 2013, 5th one in the series and also the most successful one of all them, it still continues the sell of the copy.

GTA 5 2025 sales surpass 5 million.
Looking at the May 2025 quarterly reading report, Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, has confirmed that GTA 5 has totally sold over 215 million units. Which has increase of five million now from February 2025 it happened when Take-Two confirmed the total sales were 210 million.
Take-Two had announced the lifetime sales of all GTA games combined which goes near 450 million, as of May 2025, GTA 5 being the only responsible for the half of the sales.
If GTA 6 will record the same or even higher sales success than it will be impossible to gauge. Based on the brand power we can say the 6th entry is going to be big, but the GTA 5 is giving a surprise for now too even for Rockstar.
The reports are not still confirmed that GTA 6 could release at the prize of $100 or even more, the fans might go for cheaper one which will be the predecessor. This could also put some pressure for the Rockstar to look at.
