Borderlands 4 devs release patch amid negative reviews

Borderlands 4 PC community, which has been vocal about the poor performance since launch, and the new patch released on September 13, 2025, which aims to address some of the complaints.

The Game launched on Steam, which saw thousands of negative user reviews complaining about the low frame rates, stutters and also crashes, even on the high-end hardware. The issue which dragged the game overall on Steam, the users down to have mixed.

The Gearbox blog post has the update stating that the September 13 patch focused on improving stability across a wide range of PC configurations.

To help with the smoother performance, Gearbox and 2K which also released optimisation guides for NVIDIA and AMD users. The Owners of the former were advised to have drivers up to date and to follow recommended settings for the GPU and resolution.

The patch has not yet to have solved all the reported issues, and the negative reviews criticising performance have continued to appear on Steam following the patch, and many have already expressed cautious optimism regarding stability, which has improved.
