Activision Pulls Call of Duty: WW2 servers offline to investigate

Activision took the server for Call of Duty: WW2 offline after few days it arrived on PC Game Pass to investigate reports an issue. The originally released in 2017, the series 14th main installement, including the multiplayer component, landed on the PC version of Microsoft subscription based service on June 30. 

The July 5, which was less than a week after the Game Pass debut, Activision pulled the servers offline. The reason for the service interruption? The Activison said WW2 on the PC Microsoft Store was also brought offline when they investigated  reports of an issue.

The exactly an issue entails remains to be seen officially the consideringthe action coincides with the numerous reports from the WW2 player of being hacked, there are also good chance two are related.

Looking at on X/Twitter, player shared image and clips of their game being interrupted, warning other to stay away. One of them has said he just got hacked playing WW2, do not play WW2 on Game Pass which accompanied with the footage of their game freezing mid match.

The hacks which have been attributed to RCE or also Remote Code Execution, the term refers to process in which the hacker can be install malware on another person computer when the online play user peer to peer connection rather tham the dedicated servers, the allowing to take partial or also full control of the affected PC remotely.

The report of such issues which have been circulating online since at the least July 4, the Activison to take WW2 servers offline relates to the reports, it also remains to be seen they can prevent the problem from the reoccuring the service resumes.
