The Top 7 Nintendo Switch 2 Games We Would Like to See

Nintendo has released a mighty bunch of classic games across all its platforms, either original titles or ports to newer consoles, over the years. A few select experiences, however, remain stranded in history, leaving players still hungering for them on Nintendo Switch. With the Nintendo Switch 2 rumours and leaks already out there, the time couldn’t be better for Nintendo to introduce these games yet again. Here are some of the best from Nintendo currently on hold, for which the Nintendo Switch 2 would be perfect.

Here are the top & Switch 2 games

Metroid Prime 2 & 3

Metroid Prime 2 & 3

The series seems to be doing quite well after the successful releases of Metroid Dread and Metroid Prime Remastered. Metroid Prime 4 is under development and will most likely not get complete remakes of Metroid Prime 2 & 3, yet simply porting these games is on the verge of a wonderful leap forward, stirring hype for Metroid Prime 4. Metroid Prime 4 is set to be released in 2025; however, its release has already been postponed. So releasing a port of Metroid Prime 1 & 2 in early 2025 would allow fans ample time to enjoy them before Samus takes on her next adventure.

Donkey Kong 64

Donkey Kong 64

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and other titles uploaded to Nintendo Switch Online have made several Donkey Kong releases playable on the Nintendo Switch. But all fans are still waiting for Donkey Kong 64. While back in 1999, Rare developed the title; it was published by Nintendo, and sadly, this collection hasn’t yet made its way onto the Switch. The absence of the DK Crew is all the more heartbreaking because another collection, Banjo Kazooie, developed by Rare, had its release.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which came out initially on Wii and Gamecube before getting an HD port on Wii U, has strangely gone missing from Nintendo Switch. Considering that there is already an HD port, there is an indisputable chance of bringing the game onto the Switch as well. Although Nintendo hasn’t said much about the next Legend of Zelda title, we do know it’s being worked on. However, it appears we are waiting some time for it, thus porting The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would give fans something to look forward to until then.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is also aligned with the fate of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Having originally come out for the GameCube, both found an HD port for the Wii U, but none appeared for the Nintendo Switch. Also, the Twilight Princess would have been ideal for a port since fans like a Zelda title while they wait for the next Wind Waker, which would also make an excellent port to keep the fans busy with its art style, which would be differentiated from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

F-Zero GX

F-Zero GX

The F-Zero franchise has left an impression with the firm conviction of being buried away by Nintendo, but F-Zero 99 showed us it’s still not entirely forgotten. Between Fast RMX and Redout 2, there was an audience for the fast-paced racers. Demand can be very high for a new entry to the F-Zero franchise, but the porting of F-Zero GX to the Switch 2 will be a big way to keep the series alive and make new fans. And while a port would be a step in the right direction, an HD remake would be even better.

Diddy Kong Racing

Diddy Kong Racing

Diddy Kong Racing is probably among those titles that are most difficult to import; it has tie-ins with the licensing between Nintendo and Rare, which is now owned by Microsoft. Still, for two decades, fans have been eagerly waiting to jump back into Diddy Kong Racing. Where Mario Kart is fun for Nintendo, Diddy Kong Racing holds a unique place in the hearts of fans, with its delightful characters unlikely to see the light of day in a Mario Kart title.

Yoshi’s Woolly World

Yoshi’s Woolly World

Yoshi is one of the most loyal companions to Mario, sometimes sacrificing his life to give Mario a chance to reach the end of the level. Yoshi deserves some games centred around him, with its very best being Yoshi’s Woolly World. With its yarn aesthetics, Yoshi’s Woolly World is simply charming and fun. Yoshi’s Crafted World was a great follow-up, though nowhere near the calibre of the Wii U and 3DS titles. Bringing the joy of Yoshi’s Woolly World to Nintendo Switch 2 would be a simple and warm launch addition.
