Epic Games humbles Fortnite Cheater by making a public apology

A couple of Fortnite cheaters were also being subjected to public ridicule after they were forced to apologise to the community for running matches by DDoSing streamers and selling cheat software. Epic Games is not fooling around in the fight against cheaters, a nd it is creative punishment, also proving a big hit with Fortnite players who are also sick of dealing with nefarious users in the games.

In June, the company took drastic action against cheaters by taking them to court, with the judge demanding the player pay $175,000 in damages.

Fortnite cheat seller and cyber attacker issue grovelling apologies

In a recent post, Epic Games announced it had taken legal action against the two users. They said that one sold and used cheats and the other carried out cyber attacks on content creators who were livestreaming gameplay. Both have been ordered to stop the activities and banned from playing Fortnite.

The two were ordered to post apologies to their social media accounts, and they were met with mockery. The individual named Zebsi, who had also commented on DDoS attacks on content creators, apologised for the “harm and damage caused to the streamer, other players and Epic Games.”

The cheetah seller, Mirrored, was met with far more ridicule. His apology went viral and received over 1.5M views on X. Mirrored confessed to cheating in tournaments, which, along with distributing the software. He will also face legal action if she sells or distributes cheats again.

The statement was mocked by users, including the Anti-cheat Police Department watchdog group, who also remarked, even Epic Games forced a grown man who also has a child to publiclyapologisee for cheating in Fortnite.

Looking at some cheaters have had to pay massive fines, some might also say two got off easy, the humiliation aspect of this punishment surely stings.
