Marathon Alpha launched to have mixed feedback, where people who got to play it early have their fair share of likes and also a few dislikes about the title. There were also a few big creators who participated also said this needs to be delayed.

It is important to mention that Marathon Alpha is still in early build, and it is not fully representative of the final product. Well,l even many creators also suggest this needs to be delayed.

The good thing is that the Marathon is already waning in popularity for many who have access to it, and there was concern raised by creators that the game needs to be delayed out of 2025.

Marathon, which has already been delayed in the past as well, while the internal testing at Bungie was not overly encouraging, looking at the reports from around 2023.

The Game went back into deep development to try and improve the title until the day they felt comfortable with the full gameplay reveal. In 2025, the reveal came around the September release date.

There many feedback from players who were able to play the early access, they mentioned there are many big issues. Many creators with a large following recommended that the game be delayed to get it into better shape before release.

Forbes Paul Tassi, who is a Destiny expert, has claimed that he believes it should be delayed to 2026.

Also, he mentioned he doesn’t think Marathon should be released until 2026, and it also needs to be significant as a 4-6 month delay past the September target, Also, he claimed that the game had several core issues which has to be addressed.

LegacyKillaHD, a YouTuber with over 700k subs, recommended the delay into 2026 as well. The Player count of the Alpha has fallen by over 70% on average since it went live, and there are new testers constantly being added.

He also said that the drop should scare Bungie. He thinks this will be delayed to 2026. Marathon needs to work and has a reason to justify the price tag.

Gothalion was also another creator who had a large focus on Destiny content in the past and also had over 250k subscribers on YouTube. If you do not hit the ground running with the Pvp title, regaining ground in the sector is exceedingly difficult, if not impossible.

There were many creators who had mirrored the statement, either taking issue with some core game mechanics, just like Shround did with the auto aim, calling for the game to be delayed, or simply deciding it is not for them entirely.

Well, it is only 5 months left until the Marathon launch and an open beta is slated to happen, and Bungie still has time to right the ship and address player concerns. Well,l the initial feedback was from Alpha, it was not exactly glowing and also changing the problem player and has issues with more time.
