Overwatch 2, which has finally introduced its long-awaited Hero Ban System in Season 16, is finding that players who main one character are having a horrible experience.
Hero Bans have been coming from OW2. Bans which have been tested in the esports scene for months, and at long last, as the feature which is live for everyone, are ranked, regardless of skill level.
No need to worry, your players can hope to protect the best heroes by labelling them as the preferred; however, there is no guarantee that those who haven’t been banned, either their own team or their opponents.
There are just a few days left in S16, Hero bans which have received plenty of praise, some calling g the best addition yet, but we can say the same can’t be said for the players who only like to play hero.
One trick Overwatch 2 players are Hating Hero Ban.s
One trick players have been voicing their complaints regarding the Hero bans, and other OW2 users have been found reporting one-trick of throwing their games if their character is barred.
One of the player expressed there thought by saying they dont play comp if the OW2 only know one hero, especially if it is one getting banned in major games. People are hindering themself and their team. He legitimately had 2 games in a row where he lost because his team preferred heroes got banned, and they did not know how to play others.
While some others said he had one guy who threw the game because they banned their Widow, even though they did not actually indicate they wanted to play Widow at all.
Other players are sad by not able to play their mains, where one user on the Mercy subreddit was being mocked for calling the ban an oppression.
This user was harassed to the point where they deleted their post entirely, but the oppression is a kind of inaccurate way to say the things which are happening.
To be honest people should be able to play all the other character as well. Well, here, most of the Mercy mains are the ones who are getting discriminated against, because of the hero they have been wanting to play.
While one Mercy player has been target-banned by her teammates when she was hovering the hero, with them immediately judging her based solely on the character she was selected.
Well, targeting banning someone who likes to play the character which they like is a valid strategy.
OW2 Twitch streamer Jay3 showed that the heroes he banned in the first game were explaining that it was best for the one trick to learn how to flex.
One of them said that they kind of feel a little evil, but need to learn more than one hero. There is nothing wrong with playing with the hero that you like and enjoy playing with. But during competition, you need to be prepared for anything.
The developer been saying that the hero ban will help them determine which character need some adjustments to balance, and they are planning to share the details with the community soon.
Looks like if he sees changes to the system, or a proper protect phase remains to be seen, for now, the one-tricks may need to consider learning other heroes too or the new stadium mode in the event, which they are unable to play what they are most comfortable with.
