One Pokemon Go event has made a lot of players frustrated because of Shiny mistake, as players felt that the effort they made for hours had gone to waste.
Catching a Shiny Pokemon is always a satisfying feeling as we know how rare they are. A Shiny Pokemon has a different color which makes them look even more distinct, making them valuable for players.
In Pokemon Go, the special variants can come in various events, where we can catch Mastery events.
Pokemon Go has acknowledged the Shiny rate issue for Omanyte & Kabuto
The Catch Mistery event was on Sunday, March 16, 2025, and it only had around an hour window for participation. It was mainly advertised for Omanyte and Kabuto as Wild Encounters, with chances of encountering a Shiny one for both.
Looking at a post on X, it appeared that Niantic admitted the mistake of not increasing the chances for the Shiny Omnayte and Kabuto which was intended.
There were a lot of players on social media who expressed their feelings, where they said they had put all the effort just only tomeet withh the announcement. There was a user who wrote that he was caught almost 800 between the two of them and there was not a single Shiny one, and now the time is too late to get one, which is not fair.
There was a user from Sydney who said that it was around 37 degrees Celsius and they are dealing with overheating phones and auto catchers later just to find out that the boosts were not even active at all.
Later the developer said they had solved the issue, still some players in different time zones have said that the problem is the same where they did not encounter a single Shiny Pokemon despite spending hours of time.
Let’s see what the developers have to say there are many people in different time zones who are claiming the issue still has not been fixed, let’s wait and see what the developers decide. As soon as any update comes we will be adding it here until then you can just try your luck.
