Marvel Rivals Publisher says it is not trying to Kill Overwatch 2

Marvel Rivals publisher NetEase says there is easy space for both hero shooter and Blizzard’s Overwatch 2 to coexist.

When Marvel Rivals was released back in 2024, it significantly drew many players away from other stream platforms, and became the single most played game on Steam. Stats say that this game is going to reach 40 million players in total.

Looking at this, Overwatch 2 was in a tailspin. The player count of Overwatch was slowly depleted until when developers introduced a new game mode, new heroes and also introduced a new Perk system, after all this, the game started to rebound.

Looking at the players, count the players who started comparing each game to see which one is the best. The company’s opinion is quite opposite, they want both games to be alongside one another.

As we know, not just Overwatch 2 and many Blizzard titles were not available in China for years,  it was returned in 2024 under NetEase. As games are back on the market, NetEase is reviving the product to reach new highs.

This was mentioned only to make sure that only one game, not to get the whole attention.

Both Marvel Rivals and Overwatch 2 are very good hero shooter games, and they can create a market for two different games will not be a good idea. NetEase has strived to meet the diverse demand of each respective player on both communities.

Overwatch 2 has made a good rebound after facing so many struggles, as now many players are jumping back in, there are all new changes and addition content/

Same goes with Marvel Rivals too, they still are going to be adding new heroes, Maps, and new modes.

As we can now that yes, these two games can coexist and they both have their game paths, so there won’t necessarily be a need to hold one game down.
