Araron Keller, the Overwatch game director, revealed that players can get a monstrous amount of free cosmetics when lootboxes return in Season 15.
We can say Overwatch Season 15 is finally going to earn its sequel status with the wildest content updates; the main highlight is the hero perks system. While Overwatch is going back to its roots, where players get more benefit, manly the return of free lootboxes.
A time back when Overwatch transitioned into a free-to-play model and lootboxes were retired, it made it difficult for players to acquire free cosmetics, skins, etc., but according to Keler, these days may come to an end as players can expect to earn a surprisingly bountiful amount of free boxes when they come.

While ago in an interview, Emongg, Keller said what players can expect from the Overwatch 2 lootbox system.
He stated that the first season gave a lot of items in the loot box that same did not repeat in the upcoming seasons, while now people will get items but now they have to get it through challenges, events, Twitch drops, and also there is a Discord program that is going to have a loot box with it. It is over 100 free loot boxes if you are playing the game in Season 15.
As we know, Keller clarifies that not every season is about to give as many loot boxes as they are in Season 15, and players should not make this a normal practice. But still, they have this season, and players should fully use this opportunity to grab as many skins as they can.
As the interview went on, Keller also mentioned details of the system, which revealed a player-friendly initiative that can make lootboxes a more positive experience. Player won’t be able to purchase at all, which means it is all free-to-play scenario.
There will also be a dupe protection system, mostly a reroll item one, where four items can come out of it, same as before, and it will also auto-poem all your loot boxes at the end of a season.
